Guild Rules

1. An attendance rate of at least 75% for a period of 4 weeks is required for you to have dkp bidding privileges. If you do not maintain an attendance rate of 65% in 4 week intervals, you will not win a piece of loot even if you have more dkp than a person with a higher rate of attendance.

2. If a piece of loot is going to be disenchanted it can be looted by a Main for an offspec at 5% price, if no player wants the piece for an Offspec, it can be rewarded to an Alt at 5% price.

3. AFKing and unexpected drops from raid will dock you 10 dkp. If you are AFK for longer than 10 minutes, regardless of the cause be it out of your control or not, you will be docked 2 dkp. If the raid is full, and a replacement is ready, you will lose your raid spot.

If you have to leave a raid early and you did not alert an officer before the raid started, regardless of the cause of you leaving, you will be docked 10 dkp.

If you have to leave the raid early due to an emergency, we are sorry, but regardless of the cause of you leaving, you will be docked 10 dkp. This may seem unfair, but the underlying assumption is that emergencies are rare - over the long term 10 dkp once or twice a month is statistically irrelevant - this blanket rule prevents people from falsely claiming emergency and leaving raids.

4. The officers reserve the right to temporarily declare Priority Gearing for certain individuals (be it for tanks, healers, dps, etc.) his means that during periods of progression raiding, the officers will choose to gear for progression, and if that means we need to gear up our tanks, so be it, if it means we need to gear up a certain player because of a particular role they play in an encounter, so be it. The underlying rationale: get things done first before worrying about loot distribution.

5. In order to receive ALT DKP, you must make Opening Roll Call and Closing Roll Call. Failure to make either roll call will prevent you from earning ALT DKP.

6. If there is an occasion where officers are forced to call a raid because of lack of attendance, all persons who logged on - at the start time and ready to go - will be awarded 10 dkp.The officers reserve the right to change the reward to keep up with inflation, higher level raid instances drop gear worth more dkp points, we will adjust this number to correlate relatively to around 33% of a full current raid's total dkp value.

7. Do not argue with the officers during raid about looting rules, we are busy running the raid, managing loot, managing dkp, managing switch outs, we absolutely will not discuss loot policy during raid.

(Note, this is about looting rules, not about pointing out accidental mistakes about the application of the looting rules. If there is a mistake in the application of the looting rules, please speak up.)

The officers will discuss any disagreements you have with the rules AFTER the raid, if after this post-raid discussion you still are not satisfied with the officers over the ruling, you are free to open it up to referendum on the forums. Make an intelligent post in the petition section, and by intelligent, we mean write it up as a rule that can be easily implemented, is fair to all members, and promotes positive behavior.

Raiding and DKP Rules FAQ

What is DKP?
For those unfamiliar to raiding, DKP is a point system used to determine loot order - who gets dibs on what item before someone else. You're not "paying" for items with DKP earned, DKP merely determines the order in which you receive loot.

ALT DKP
Just because you are not invited to the raid does not mean you can not earn DKP. If you are asked to sit out of the raid, you will still earn DKP. To earn ALT DKP you must:

1. Be online at the start of raid and make first roll call. We track attendance by inviting everyone to the raid and taking a snapshot of everyone in the raid at first roll call.

2. Be online at the end of raid and make closing roll call. If you log off before closing roll call, and you miss closing roll call, we have no verifiable way of noting for how much of the raid you sat out. General rule of thumb, stay until closing roll call if you want full alt dkp for the night.

How are raid invites determined?
There are currently no formal rules for determining who gets a raid invite, and who will be sat out - however, the following are the criterion for getting a raid invite.

1. Your attendance is generally very high. The raid leader and officers view a high attendance rate as a strong indicator of you as a good investment. If you consistently show up for raid, on time, ready to go, your chances for getting a raid invite will be higher than someone who does not show up for raid on time, not ready to go. This is because as we progress into higher level instances, the raid will need to meet gear-requirements. Investing gear on players with low attendance rates only contributes to gear dilution, thus slowing down our progression.

2. You're a good and conscientious player, you do your job, you contribute and you don't cause drama. You're good at your job, you help contribute ideas when the raid is wiping, and you play well with others. You help out the not so hardcore players with their dps rotations, you run lots of heroics with other guildies, you're active, etc. Chances are, you'll be asked to join the raid.

3. You're well geared.
As raid leaders and officers, we have to keep in mind that our responsibility is to run an efficient raid. This means we will give preference to people who are well geared. Well geared players are generally, players with good attendance, and players with good attendance are a better raid/guild investment. If you are in greens and blues and you are being sat out of raids, the best thing you can do is gear yourself independently of raids via heroics. You are in a guild with tanks and healers - be social, ask them to help you out during off raid times. Most of us are nice people.

4. We need your class for a certain fight, or we can't bring you to a certain fight.
Sometimes we need a certain class for a certain fight, so we'll take you. Sometimes, a boss encounter dictates a certain number of melee dps, sometimes a certain number of tanks. In those cases, you may be asked to sit out.

5. You're on top of DKP, and you're expecting a piece of loot over someone else who is below you on DKP and does not have priority over you - combine with other previous reasons.
Sometimes we won't bring you to a boss fight because of limited spots, but also because someone else will always win a particularly highly desired drop over you. I.E. You want the 2hder off Kel, but someone else has more dkp than you and also wants the item. Because you will not win the item, if someone else wants in on the boss fight for a highly desired item of their own, we may sit you out. Happens every once in a while. The underlying reasoning is; we want to reward people with particularly high attendance and DKP, and we want to make sure certain highly prized drops do not go to waste, why bring two warriors for a single axe, when a hunter can come and get a chance at a bow.

6. If we pass on taking you on raids, but you want to be included, be vocal, talk to an Officer and find out what the issue is.
Talk to the officers, they are your personal QQ boxes. Just don't bitch at Zzaap while he's leading raids, it annoys him because it slows down raids, and slow raids makes baby Jesus cry. But feel free to communicate with your officers; they're officers, they have a job, and that job is to listen to you bitch...Zzaap however is a grumpy old tard, he usually doesn't respond well, so talk to the nicer officers like Cent, Butterz or Shazzi.
